Hello, my name is Carlota!
I am a bilingual, Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) offering individual and group therapy to teenagers and adults in California, Oregon, and Washington.
I am also a social justice advocate, a believer in science, and a devoted dog mom to two wonderfully wacky pups! At my core, I believe that when we have the means and capacity to help others, we have a responsibility to do so. That belief shapes the way I navigate the world personally, as well as the compassionate, collaborative space I offer every patient in my work as a therapist.
My Approach to Therapy
As a BIPOC (Latina) therapist and immigrant, I bring a culturally responsive approach to therapy that recognizes how our identities, histories, and environments shape our lives: the way we show up in relationships, the opportunities that we do or do not pursue, and the way that we value and care for ourselves. My goal is to create a space where all parts of you are welcome, and where your lived experience is honored with compassion and respect.
Coming to therapy is a profound act of courage. I know that introspection, change, and vulnerability are hard, and I strive to make that process feel safe and supportive; I strive to be worthy of bearing witness to your story. I combine evidence-based, research-supported therapies with a deep respect for the power of the therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore your story, honor your experiences and identity, and work toward the changes you want to see.
I work best with patients who desire meaningful growth – people navigating trauma, life transitions, loss, or relationship challenges, and who value authenticity, depth, and humor in their therapy experience.
“Therapy is not about fixing what’s broken – it’s about understanding, healing, and reconnecting to your strength.”
